marketing

I am not sure where the marketing strategy of creating a good product and then changing it came from, but I wish it would stop. Do not change a good thing.

Oh my

One must be careful when one shops online. It is so easy, too easy, to click and buy. I sit here with;new towels, new sandals, teeth whitener, and various other is on its way. I am thinking of buying all of my girls a spiralizer. I have enjoyed spiralizing some zucchini and miking it for about 1.5 minutes and mixing it with pesto. So good. Thoughts that are bringing me joy today are, daughter in Peoria, IL visiting my mom, other daughter cooking Salmon Patties. Thoughts that are concerning me, 2 daughters with troublesome tummies and one of those has been getting migraines.
Praising God for rescuing boys soccer team trapped in caves in Thailand. Praying for the POTUS. Man, is he hated by so many.
Husband in bed earlly.
Dear Diary.

The One Year Bible

Jump in, the water is fine!
I enjoy The One Year Bible. I have now reached the age where I don't punish myself if I miss a day here or there. If you are looking for a devotional, this is a good place to start.
We had a Birthday party for a 14 year old yesterday. It was great fun and when I surveyed the damage today, I realized the river only got:( 1) Frisbee, (1) life jacket, (2) river tubes. I call that  a win for us.

Consider

I am a less than a plain woman so I always hoped age would level the playing field and all the woman around my age that were gorgeous would fade in their beauty and we would all land about the same place. Not true. Some of them have gotten more beautiful And what I did not count on was that my unattractive areas could become more unattractive or new features would show up. So, love yourself as you are. Quit worrying about things you can not change and stops comparing yourself to others ,coveting your neighbors good looks. God has a plan for even me.

Morning

Morning can be difficult for me. Seems as I have entered this phase in my womanhood I encounter what is called, moments of impending doom. Those moments generally occur in the AM. I have been experiencing them,on and off, for years so the impending part has been proven false but the heaviness of them is something I need to pray through every day. Like this, help me to get up, Lord. Cause me to get up,Lord. Thanks for allowing me to get up,Lord.

A day in the life of a believer

What is a day in the life of a Christian American older woman like? More important who really cares? I never really considered the fact that people become irrelevant in society until my eighty year old dad told me one day that he was irrelevant now, that he was retired.I could not believe that the most influential man in my life and my siblings life could ever feel that way. Now, a couple of years have passed and you
Know, as a fifty two year old average woman I kind of get it. Society does begin to overlook you. As a Christian woman, I Know my value in Christ . I am His peculiar treasure. Life as a Christian woman can be hard but I always know I am relevant in Christ,

Lazy

Unlike my parents, as I age I am getting so lazy. My husband bought me an iPad and I do not think that helps me. I was just noticing that due to ,my laziness, my nails are a it longer than usual and look quite elegant as I type on this tiny cool keypad. My husband has decided to take up a plant based diet which has left me totally confused and even more apt to laziness as I contemplate dinner. I just noticed as I type my screen moves a bit like a typewriter of old and I find comfort in that. It takes me back to a time of less no I was a mess then too. I just like the elegance of this IPad.
I just noticed I have used that phrase a few times. I have nothing of interest here. Move along. I have had my iPad one day. I recommend it.
I like the bible gateway app.

Ya know that saying...

Well behaved women are never remembered.
Well, not only do I hate that saying but I do not believe it is true.

Captain Kirk done me wrong

I was planning a trip to drive my senior college student back to campus and since we had some doctors appts. along the way I decided to spend the night in the city where the doctors were located as it was about half way to our destination and the appts. were the day before she was due back to school. Anyway I went to book a hotel and decided to try priceline.com. I went to said sight and chose the "name your own price option". I plugged in the $65.00 option,$65.00 being the highest price I would pay as I figured that was the approximate amount of gas money I was saving by not driving back home and spending the night at home. Anyway Captain Kirk said he was doing some Karate chopping and congratulated me as my offer had been accepted. YIpppee! It was a nice resort type place in Palm Desert. I was excited for my good fortune. I figured it was there off season(115 degrees out and all) and looked forward to the time with daughter. Well, upon check in, I am hit with a surprise, mandatory "Resort Fee" of $23.00 per night. What the What? I paid it and grumbled to myself all night as I did not want to spoil the time for my daughters. It was a beautiful place and worth the money, that is not the problem. The problem is both priceline and the HYATT know that the real room fee is $88.00 per night but they break apart like this to get you there and your agreement with priceline is you can not break your reservation! What if I had been staying a week, that would have been @$161.00 dollars more than I would have budgeted. In laymans terms, priceline and HYATT are ripping people off. Thank you for letting me vent.
